An e-commerce website for a high-end skincare brand, founded by Dr. Lens. Making their new website as elegant as their products.
THE CHALLENGE
Zelens’ new website had to be a sharable hub of scientifically backed skincare advice, with a simple purchasing UX on top. The overall look & feel had to be completely modernised too to visually tell the user that this is an upmarket product and an upmarket experience.
THE RESPONSE
First of all, the overall product journey was mapped out from exploration to conversion and optimised. I simplified the purchase journey by reorganising information into fewer pages. Then, I redesigned those pages into beautifully clean layouts that were dense with information yet still felt vibrant and modern. This removed some of the hurdles causing user drop off on the old site. This optimisation also informed the fresh new design that the client fell in love with.
Finally, I designed a new section of the site called “Zelens Garden”, acting as a content hub for all things skin care. It’s modern, highly informative, and super sharable
THE THOUGHT BEHIND: THE ZELENS GARDEN
Zelens is a brand that is immensely proud of their product and what goes into it. They wanted a space for the ingredients of everything they sold, and then wanted a page for every individual ingredient too to show just how much science and care is put into their work. All of that content also had to be dynamically alphabetised and sharable, so - needless to say - it was challenging in terms of UX.
Organisation was key, so making a clear and beautiful homepage for “Zelens Garden” was a priority. Every ingredient page had to be just as clean, and link directly to products that contain that ingredient to always urge conversion as users explored. The client loved how the final design did their products justice.


CONCLUSION
Overall the site became fresher, brighter and encompassed the brand beautifully. The little motion design elements helped the brand stand out in a competitive market, while the easy purchase journey removed all hurdles from making sales.
